The main objective of this study is to explore users’ perception and evaluation of the healthcare service in a threefold way: first, looking for differences between public and private healthcare (according to service provider); second, considering the existence of core and peripheral services (according to the nature of the service); and third, from a double perspective of supply (physicians and hospital managers) and demand (health care end-users). Methods. Within an exploratory approach, a qualitative analysis has been conducted where two research questions were proposed. Their organised discussion in seven in-depth interviews served as a base for the following quantitative analysis.
